where did you get William's father's name from Mark

I would say almost certainly that his baptism is not online

St Mark's Scarisbrick did not open until 1848 and North Meols baptisms for those years are not online

This is much nearer...but almost certainly too late

Not all PR's are on line................you will probably have to visit the County Records Office

If you look at the LancsOPC site you will see that only 1878 has been transcribed for St Mark, Scarisbrick

The reason why i am asking for help.......

I can see no logical reason why you think that a child born in Scarisbrick is the one baptised in Liverpool

cant be correct at baptism date is different

Today with your help/advice i would like to be able to solve the parentage of William Houghton 1808. Born in Scarisbrick. Lancashire. England, he was baptised at St Nicholas. Liverpool. Lancashire, England 19/02/1809. William married Frances Newton 18/02/1828 at St, Peter and St, Paul. Ormskirk. William worked as a Wheelwright and at the time of the 1881 census was Residing at 118 Linaker Street, Southport. Thanks. William is my 4x great grandfather.
