Speculation is not a good idea.

Brentford and Bexhill are not exactly adjacent, although the householder may have been unaware of the child's correct birthplace

If Dora married, and knew who her father was, his name will be on the marriage cert

How did your friend get back to this census entry?

Now that’s interesting – the image shows that Dora Martyn had been married 5 years, and had 2 children born alive, still living. The information about the marriage and children has been crossed out by the collator.
