Hi Cherilyn, many thanks for your reply and kind offer to look up. Her married sister was Minnie Jane Leveson-Gower. (married in the uk). Their uncle, Matthew Ladd left London for Port Phillip Bay in 1852 and I have quite a bit of info on his descendants. Edith Rose married Allan Vale Hills from Tasmania. Their mother was Matthew's sister Mary Jane (Ladd) Lindop (died 1868). Elizabeth Ladd was their stepmother. Thanks again. Lesley |

Thanks very much Chris. I had found the death details, but not the family notice. Will look now. (Sandell was indeed her maiden name, so must be her). |

Chris.. he'd had an eventful life, with an incredible amount of tragedies, yet always seemed to march on.... so I am not at all surprised at the outcome, although so sad. Certainly a lesson here for us descendants. Thankfully all fairly grounded to date! |

I think I've found the death info of my gt. gt. grandfather in Melbourne, Australia, via Ancestry.com. But wonder if there are more detailed records available. Anything further would be really appreciated. (He left London for Melbourne in Feb. 1890, so died not long after arriving I would think.) |
