It is pay-to-view. No subscriptions. Credits cost £7.00 for 30

Depending on the date, familysearch also have baptisms and births upto 1875 for some areas - can help to save credits on scotlandspeople to look there first.

Civil registration started in 1855 in Scotland and birth certs give more info than English/Welsh ones - they have the date and place of parents' marriage and marriage certs give names of mothers as well as fathers.

BUT you can not view on Scotlandspeople births within the last 100 years but it would give you the info to apply for a birth cert if that recent
