Alderney civil records are quite sketchy with many gaps, especially so with deaths. Try contacting the Priaulx Library in Guernsey for more accurate information.
I see that George was a Labourer on the 1851 and I would guess that he was working on the nearby breakwater that was under construction at that time.

Hi. Looking for the death record of George Henry Johns b. 1805 Truro Cornwall. George moved to Alderney C I in the 1840s with his family. The 1851 shows him living in Crabby Village Alderney. However by 1861 his wife Agnes is a widow. Can sks help.? Thanks Dud.
