Find Ancestors

I am looking to find Ada Workman - born Wotton Under Edge, Glos, registered Dursley 1898/9.
Her older siblings were registered in THornbury and are in the Thornbury Workhouse in 1901 - but I cant find Ada anywhere.
Her mother is not in the workhouse & is living with her partner nearby to Wotton under Edge. ( not married ).

Can someone please look at the Dursley workhouse Census for 1901 ( perhaps for a badly written entry ) .??

Yes - this is correct - Ada Lily Workman..

Have you looked for her living with a member of her parents families? Perhaps she is with her grandparents or being looked after by an aunt or uncle and is noted under their name?
If you could give a bit more info on her parents and siblings names etc. then maybe we could have a look.

No sign of Ada Lily!

I Have looked at the grandparents / uncles / aunts ( that I know of ) in 1901 and cannot find Ada Lily with any of them - as her siblings were all in the workhouse, I wondered if she was too - or in an establishement for babies??

Adas mother Sarah Anne Workman, went on to marry William Beckerton & they moved to Pontypridd, S. Wales & Ada is shown in 1911 as Ada Beckerton - but she was married under her correct name of Ada Workman. Ada wasnt adopted.

I simply cannot find any trace of her in 1901 - which is why I thought that Dursley Workhouse may hold a clue??

Her brothers and sisters were in Thornbury Workhouse......no sign of her there...also looked at Dursley Workhouse ...no luck.

No thats not her Im afraid - but many thanks for looking.

Chris - you have ALL the suspects perfectly correct.......

Just Ada in 1901 who is the mystery & she is my grandmother, so would obviously liked to have found her.......... perhaps I will never know where she was in 1901.( no family left to ask Im afraid )
