But again I think this is the wrong Eliza Lee.
William Lee was not born until 1885.
And their destination and place of arrival was Australia...

I have found this but not sure about it. Eliza is travelling with a Wm Lee aged 18 a student. Eliza is down as a Matron but I think that is because of her age??

I can't check the ships passenger list as it doesn't appear to be there on Ancestry. Just a suggestion, but try amending your title to include Australia - that way someone with more experience in researching there may be able to help.

This seems to be the right Eliza Lee.
But there seems to be no record of her son William or husband Charles arriivng with her.
I think it would have been unusual for a married woman to have travelled to Australia without her husband and child in 1885.

There's this one on Ancestry, but no image to view - maybe someone with better Australian knowledge could check it out?

Thank you . I think you have the right couple too. I cannot find William Lee'e birth records (1885) in Australia. So I am assuming he was born in the UK. This would put this couple as coming to Australia sometime between his birth in 1885 and 1891.

Mel, I think you've probably got the right marriage- the ages tie up and nothing to do with the other family we posted. If the 1881 census details are correct, and I think they are, then I can't find them as a couple after their marriage so wonder if they went to Australia between 1881 & 1891??

Added - the witnesses at marriage were John H Collins and May Underwood.

This must be a different Lee family.
Perhaps there were 2 Lee Families with the same Chrsitian names in London?
The original Lee family discussed in this thread already had 2 children (aged around 9) by 1881.....
But as the ages are just about right they could be my g/g grandparents.....
I've estimated that Charles was born around 1858.....

so This one was still in England in 1901 and Eliza is a widow so not your one.

The above information is definitely "my" Charles Lee.
They owned 2 houses at 76 and 78 Margaret Street, North Adelaide.
Their son William lived next door in No.76 with his wife Fanny and their family.
I do not have (and have never seen) William Lee's marriage certificate.

Is this Charles' death? (Might give us something to work back from)
