Eringobragh
thank you for the information
i have a message about a William Price who was in the 90th regement of foot (same regiment as Joseph Williams son)
i know i am clutching at straws here but it is the only William Price in the right time frame
it states William was born in 1796 in Killone in the town of Koolarney (this is spelt with a K )and is in Co Sligo
i am really gratful for all the information yourself and others have taken time to send me
i think maybe it is to far back in time to really find out for sure any more info about William (i wish i had his wife Rebeccas maiden name )
i could then look for his wedding maybe
i know for sure the son Joseph was born in coolcullen Castlecomer
but i realise that does not mean his parents were born or lived there
although i feel there must have been a link with Rebecca as her son was baptised there and she died there
well a mystery that may be solved in the future maybe
regards Kevin

Kevin.....

Killarney is major town in the County of Kerry...

Coolaney (spelled with a C) is in the Co Sligo

I cannot locate a Killrone...but it is not KilloneParish

There needs to be a clue somewhere...finding it is the problem..!!!

Eringobragh
thank you so much for all that information i am really gratful to get it all back again
have now printed it of
Rebecca died in Coolcullen Co Kilkenny
she is described on her death certificate as the wife of a military pensioner
he is described as desceased
could you tell me is Killrone and Killone the same place
also would you know if Koolaney and Killarney are the same
as there was a William Price in the 90th regiment i was tending to assume it was maybe Josephs father a mistake to make i now realise
thenks again regards Kevin

Kevin....Where and when did Rebecca die...?
Although you have a "print out" of Killone Parish as the birthplace of William I would consider that to be possibly suspect at this time..he may well have been based in Ennis and living in Killrone Parish.....in the absence of Primary Source info.consider every possibilty.

Eringobragh.. Marie Celeste
thank you for your time.
i really do not have much on William .i know he married a Rebecca maiden name unknown .i have their son Joseph born 1835 in castlecomer in Kilkenny or Carlow but no marrage of a William Price to a Rebecca can be found in these areas
the son was in the Connaught rangers then enlisted in Kilkenny into the 90th regiment of foot
the son then served in apart form foreign countrys Scotland Wales England
i have all info on the son Joseph (marrage children death) but cannot get a correct area for his father William
know William was in the military so was wondering if his son followed him into service into the 90th no proof of this
somebody sent me a message there was a William Price in the 90th regiment who could (and it was a big could) have been Josephs father
i have foolishly lost all info on my own computor regarding this William cannot remember the site but it was not genes
memo to self must print info off straight away
regards Kevin

Eringobragh1916 Report 28 Dec 2012 09:25

Kevin....For the time period you are searching the Price surname in the Co Clare was virtually nil...there are 3 listed for the Parish of Killone 1828 John/Thomas/ and a Mr.(no christian name).I am not finding the surname earlier than that however it may be William was born within that Parish but the family originated from another...the further back you go the percentage for finding definative proof reduces to less than 10%....If the family were RC then the earliest records that have survived for Killone RC Parish are from 1863 prior to that you would be needing to search the Clareabbey records but they only go back to 1853....

As MC has noted above ...give us what you have and we may be able to help.

Kevin...Killrone (aka Killowen) is not a Town but a "Civil Parish" in the Co Clare that Civil Parish comprised of 25 individual Townlands so you would be needing to make certain you are looking in the Co Clare.
As Marie Celeste has posted both the Counties of Waterford and Leix have a Town of that name.

If you post some details of who/ when you are seraching it may help to identify where you need to be looking.
