As stated, her death certificate should name her parents. In order to discover who they were it will be necessary for you or your aunt. to obtain/purchase an extract of the certificate from the Scotlandspeople website.

Without it you are unlikely to be able to proceed further

Hi thanks for these but have already used Scotlands People site to get the birth, marriage and death years. Have managed to work back 3-4 generations on her husbands side but just need her parents names to allow me to do the same on her side. ps I dont have the marriage certificate. The info is for my aunt who is her daughter but she doesnt have any info either and she was only about 14 when the above died in 1966.

Do you not have the marriage cert ?

You would not be able to view online scottish births within the last 100 years but Scotlandspeople website would give you the info to order the cert. BUT not a subscription website and you would need to purchase credits £7 gets you 30 credits to get the details

Her death certificate should name her parents.

See: http://www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk for details about how to obtain an extract.

N.B. As the death occurred less than 50 years ago are deemed "Modern Day" records so the image is not available online.
