Please could someone give me the info about William Cole b 1861 & his wife Alice Lisle Cole nee Williams b abt 1866. According to Ancestry they appear on the 1930 census living (I think) in Camden New Jersey. Presume William died in America as I have Alice returning to the UK alone aged 85 in 1952. Any info would be much appreciated.

Was Alice originally from South Shields? If so, she'd already moved back to England in the 1940s although did seem to visit US again.
EDIT: Found her birth record in Shields so the following is her:
New York, Passenger Lists, 1820-1957 Name: Alice L Cole Arrival Date: 21 Oct 1946 Birth Date: abt 1868 Birth Location: England Birth Location Other: south shields Age: 78 Gender: Female Ethnicity/ Nationality: English Port of Departure: Southampton, England Port of Arrival: New York, New York Ship Name: Queen Elizabeth
States she had previously been in USA 1925 to 1936 and her permanent residence was now Newbiggin by the Sea. She was going to visit her daughter Mrs A Megonegal at 1704 48th Street, Merchantville, New Jersey.
Her nok in England was another daughter, Mrs A Johnson, 98 Front Street, Newbiggin by the Sea

Gosh, that´s marvellous. Yes, the family were from Shields. William & Alice´s son John William married my ancestor Janie Jarvis. He was a railway superintendant & they lived in Burma for some time. I have them returning to the UK from Rangoon. When Alice returned from the USA in 1952 her forwarding address was 98 Front Street, Newbiggin. Thank you all for your hard work.
