Thanks All

It could be this one, could they get married at 18 ? I ask this because my nan got married at 19 but declared her age as 21. Also is there any way to get more info ie his details without buying certificate.

Thanks

David

Up until 1929 in England and Wales males could get married at 14, females at 12, but if under age (under 21) parental permission was needed.

So a good reason for fibbing about age, if such permission was not forthcoming.

David, Ephraim would have been 21/22 , Alice 18/19 and yes they could get married at 18 ( or younger) with parent's permission.

Thanks all

Looks like it would be worth buying certificate.
