Re: Noah Blaustein 1911
Census Reference:RG14PN1094 RG78PN36 RD11 SD3 ED21 SN400
I read his pob as Zloczow, Galacia, Austria.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kingdom_of_Galicia_and_Lodomeria has an inset map with 3 N flowing rivers (Warta, Vistula, Bug).
On this map, Zloczow is just W of the source of the Bug, abt 60km E of Lwow.
Ii's now in the western Ukraine and if I look up Zloczów, L'vivs'ka oblast, Ukraine on
http://maps.google.com/ it takes me to Zolochiv, L'vivs'ka oblast, Ukraine which is almost midway between Lviv and Ternopil.

Maybe this is of interest:

Cheers Kath :-D

I think Annie's probate record confirms the change name - probate granted to Marks Venis (tobacconist) who I assume is the Marks Vernicoff from the 1901 census:

Annie Sunasky

Death Date: 20 Oct 1924
Death Place: Middlesex, England

Lived 37 Westwick gds West Kensington, died at 47 Shepherds Bush Road Hammersmith. Left £2144 9s 9d

Hove would be right as my Dad was in the brighton area

My dad was born 10th april 1919 and michael blaustein died 17th Nov 1918 so he be his father or it could be Bernard Venis!

KathleenBell

KathleenBell Report 29 Dec 2012 11:41

He could have lied about his age - and marriage was legal for a 14 year old boy in 1921. (although I agree it's unlikely )

I can't find another birth in England for a Bernard Venis or Venicoff apart from the one in 1907.

Flip Report 29 Dec 2012 11:39

I posted what I think is Annie's death in 1955, Hove, if you look back at the marriage records posted she was known a both Annie and Doris.

Flip

Flip Report 29 Dec 2012 11:38

That family could be connected in some way, but that one can't be the Bernard who married in 1921.
