I'm wondering whether 'Sutton' is Sutton Weaver,a village which lies between Runcorn and Frodsham.

Also wondering whether John and Hannah are brother and sister. Nancy is a pet form of Ann, and according to FamilySearch George and Ann have several children born Frodsham - I think Nancy and Ann might be one and the same.

Not having any joy finding Hannah in the census :-(

Peter

Peter Report 29 Dec 2012 14:33

Hi and thank you for all of this help! Not sure where to start!

Now, Ann/Nancy Roberts WAKEFIELD seems to be the same and appears in the census - she died in 1842 aged an impressive 102 years old. How accurate this, I don't know as I have no seen this 1753 baptism before.

Also, George Wakefield died in 1829 aged 80, so the 1753 baptism for him could be correct but slightly out. I don't know ... we are at that funny stage in family history.

In short, I don't know the answer but I am grateful you are helping me out.

With this, I do wonder about John and Hannah being siblings, which is why I posted the request to begin with, to asert from the census whether Mary was a widow of John or another sibling.

You see, George senior and Ann/Nancy had the following children, who I can find no marriage or death for (all baptised in Frodsham, Cheshire):

Ellen, bap 1779
Elizabeth, bap 1781
Hannah, bap 1781
Mary, bap 1783
Ann, bap 1795

There another four, including my ancestor James, but I can account for their lives.

It would be good to find more about these girls also - can you help?

Cheers,

Peter
