looking for death of john mackie born lanarkshire scotland 1928
he was in and out of the army for 20 years he was acook or chef
went egypt,, aden, ect we thought at first he died in army but i contacted
army and paid for his records undr freedom of information act
he left army after 20 years 1969/1970 think he went to corby or
kettering as he had a brother and sister who went there to live
they died along time ago so no contacts anyone help please

just something that was mentioned years ago before my mum died in
1988 just trying to see what happened to him after the army would like
to know if he got married or what i have tried lookin not much in england
i am with scottish people tried ancestry free trial and looked thanks! cath

So, you are starting with the premise that he died in England between 1969 and 1988? The only one which remotely fits was in Manchester in 1984, and that is a John Joseph Mackie born 4 Apr 1927..
If you can get hold of his actual birthdate, if he died up till 2006 this can be used to check.

The john mackie you found in manchester is not my uncle
it was not 1928 he was born,it was october 1929 in bellshill
lanarkshire scotland as i sai no trace when left army in1970.
dont know if he got pension frm army or if he lived long
enough to get it if i contact amy prob cost a lot as i already
paid 30 odd £ for them to send me his records.
Sorry if im rambling new to this message boards ect!!

been doin searching for about 5 years but that because
i am doing my mothers above + fathers husbands mother + fathers
searching Mackie,Ross ,keeney and tipper thanks for letting me
ramble cath.

If he died in England/Wales, it was after 2006, and those records are not on line.

Are you saying that neither his brother nor his sister had any descendants who may have known this man?

Youve put in your OP he was born in 1928 but later state 1929?

There is only one birth in Bellshill for a person of that name registered in 1929. So could be born end of 1928.
Do you have the name of his parents?

The birth year is less important than the day and month, if trying to find deaths in England 1970-2006 - people often get a birthday right but mess up the age!

his mother catherine baillie
his father james mackie
my mother siblings all died young and there
kids were younger than me and didnt know
much about him as he was in army most of
i saw a lot of him when he was on leave!
must lookout his records again.

This is the only death which shows that birthday - might be a bit too far out for the year?
