Please can anyone help?
I have Thomas HARVEY married 11 June 1861 All Saints, Newchurch I.O.W full age, bachelor, seaman, father Thomas HARVEY a carpenter. I cant see Thomas Jn in the 1851 census he was possibly at sea, I have a report on his death, 13.07.1870

“ Thomas Harvey late quartermaster on board The Endymion, who died from brain fever, between Auckland and Japan, in February, the officers and men subscribed the handsome sum of over £77 for his widow. An officer on board proceeded to Newport, Isle of Wight, for the purpose of presenting the money …..”

[ In 1870, £77. 0. would have the same spending worth of 2005's £3,518.90]
I haven’t been able to find out his age

I don’t know where & when Thomas was born, His wife was Sarah nee Bricknell, was born Southsea c1823 lived in Newport 1841 with parents, 1851 servant Newport, 1861 servant Ryde, she married 11 June 1861 All Saints, New church [Ryde], 1870, Thomas Harvey late quartermaster died Feb, 1871 Sarah in Carisbrooke with 3 daughters, a widow, that is all I have on him.
The Thomas Harvey 49 Coal merchant with son Thomas 17 a Mariner,he later took over the coal business, so we can discount him,
I have found this in the newspapers
“Harvey-Perkins- on Tuesday last, at the Independent Chapel, Node Hill, Isle of Wight, Mr Thomas Harvey,
Carpenter, to Miss Perkins, Milliner, and High Street.”
I don’t know if this his father? 2nd Marriage??
I think Thomas would have been on the IOW in 1841, unless he was much older than his wife?

Also found two Thomas Harvey one 28 other 15 in 1841 census Carisbrooke, could this be my Thomas & his father the Carpenter???

The census & marriage look to be the man I am after, I wonder where his son Thomas was in 1841? He would have been about 15 [if it is the right one] he could he have been in the Navy by then ? but family Search have one in the 1841 census, may be it is not him.:-S

The problem is, you have no idea where he was born. There can't be too many Thomas Harvey's around with occupation carpenter though I suppose.
Who were the witnesses on the marriage cert please, and do you have any kind of residence for him?

One other problem I have is finding Thomas married daughter,
I found this on An….. 1911 census NAME: Emma Ada Toogood BIRTH: abt 1871 - city, Isle of Wight, United Kingdom RESIDENCE: date - city, Hampshire, England
But can’t find her on Family search or Genes R!
