I don't know if this is the father, Ferris is a common enough name here.
There no site that has complete BMD's for Ireland
familysearch.org
http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~rosdavies/
http://www.proni.gov.uk/index/search_the_archives.htm
http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/
http://www.lennonwylie.co.uk/

site you can search for free, but to view the full record you have to pay
emeraldancestors.com
ancestryireland.com
rootsireland.ie [has the same information as ancestryireland but you can narrow your search by district/parish
http://www.historyfromheadstones.com/

Thanks Maura - please don't think me rude but if you can search for more of the family it is highly appreciated. Wow! I'm so glad I got to the PRONI now!

Thank you again for all of your help so far!

The GRO(I) index thru 1958 (excl N. Ireland post-partition) is available at:
https://familysearch.org/search/collection/list#page=1®ion=UNITED_KINGDOM_IRELAND

One can purchase certs (or cheaper still, the uncertified images of the rego) via:

Hi again, been doing a bit more research into this family - seems as though the George Ferris that was found isn't correct (father's name isn't mentioned on certificate but occupation is given as butler?!)

Regardless, I found numerous deaths for the children of William and Eliza Ferris, along with their deaths . One pension document also mentioned that William and Eliza married in 1845 ... but I can't find any sign of a marriage even though this is after civil registration began.

I presume they were CofI as they children were baptised Presbyterian. Any ideas where I can find their marriage?

Nudge for the 1845 marriage - it should be there!
