Hi
I have a Hammond family in 1841,
Maria age 30,(born ASHFORD) her husband age 30 and their son Charley age 6, all living at 29 Northbrook STreet Newbury Berks
Hmmm...
. Now that odd because Maria was bptised in Eton but maybe born in Asford.(?)
Her mother is my brick wall (Hannah Clifford nee Richardson.

Now I am trying to track all her family in case I pick up any leads on the way!! Any odd names in censuses etc.
Can anyone find this family in 1851

Hi,
Many thanks.
Maria's parents were Hannah and George Clifford as Barry has added above.
My direct relationship is through Maria's older sister Sarah.
Hannah Clifford was a Richardson before her marriage.
I paid a researcher to look at the local parish records and she found Sarah & Marias baptism in the Eton parish records .
Later in 1841 Hannah Clifford is living with her grand daughter in the STAINES Ashford area.Then in 1851 she is living with her son George in Ashford . Hannah is recorded as born in Bedford Bedfordshire. (could be Bedfont in original) I have spent so long trying to trace Hannah . She must have been born in abt 1780. She is 71 in the 1851 census. Her husband died in 1839.
I have research Sarah trying to find links to her mothers history but failed so now am trying Maria.
My big challenge is to find hannah Richardsons birth. Family verbal history has that she ran away from her rich family to marry a tradesman. George Clifford was a shoemaker- cordwainer.
