Does anyone know how or where we can view the censuses that predate 1841 ?

All best wishes for the New Year,
Pam :-D

Google search
e.g.
https://www.familysearch.org/learn/wiki/en/England_Census
looking at the section

Joy,
Does that link that you have provided give any information about the pre-1841 censuses as to where to find out more about them?
I can see that you have nudged it up for Pamela, also, but I ploughed through all the pages and saw much about 1911 and lots of nudges up but have probably missed out the relevant posting.
I sometimes wish that interim nudges up could be deleted so that only the relevant information was left - I lose the will to live if there are too many of them.
Sorry.

The pre-1841 censuses were essentially head counts.

I found a record for 1831 in some parish records. All it gave was number of households and totals for male and females.

FMP - 1831

Nether Hallam, Sheffield 1831 Census Consists of 942 census entries from the Nether Hallam area near Sheffield, which lists the name and occupation of the Head of the household, plus a headcount of the rest of the people residing at the house.
