We need some help please with the ancestors of John Owen DAVIES b about 1866.we have his marriage certificate to Ellen Riley 1886 and his merchant naval certificates.in Liverpool. He states his father was THOMAS DAVIES,a canvasser.We have not been able to confirm his birth or find him on a census with father THOMAS,but there is a John Owen Davies with a father WILLIAM ( joiner).This birth certificate gives the mother as Dinah late Bradley formerly Jones.
Family reports claim a Welsh origin,possibly Caernarfon shire as he exported Welsh slate to Australia.
Could anyone dig him out the records please!

Yes and also claims his wife was 20,but the family say she was proud of being only 16. He gives different birth dates on his 3 Mates and Masters certificates.Mary
