Find Ancestors

This is a difficult one.
Thomas Hicks b c1886 had 4 children by Edith Annie Souter. They never married as Souter is the name on the childrens certificates and also i think Edith was married to ? Souter but have no evidence about that.
Think her maiden name was Rouse b c1886 but do not know for sure.
Thomas apparently moved around a lot, maybe in the circus.

So Northamptonshire seems to be the area they came from.
They all took the name Hicks later and moved to Chatham in Kent
Can any light be thrown on this muddle
Thomas and Edith both died in Kent
