Honora married George Eaton in 1881 & they had a daughter Anna Susannah (reg as Ann Susan) b 1885, Bapt 1885, died 1886. Havefound the couple on the 1891, 1901 & 1911 census. Oddly in 1881 George is showing as a lodger, married, but can´t find Honora. She´s not on any censuses with her parents, but have found an Ann Susan Murphy on the 1861 census with the correct year of birth, parents Patrick Murphy & Susan Felton marr B´ham 1855. I suspect this may be Honora & she was known by a different name as a child, although she did marry as Honora & is on all the later censuses as Honora Eaton. Patrick Murphy was a bootmaker, as was Honora´s husband George Eaton. Please can anyone spot her between 1861 & 1881.

Mel
I think 1855 refers to the parents marriage?
Do you have her fathers name from the marriage cert?

Yes Gins, that´s the only one I could find too, but Honora is definitely registered in Birmingham which I why I suspect that Honora of the registration & Ann Susan of the 1861 census could be the same person, especially as Honora & George named a daughter Ann Susan. On the 1871 census Patrick & Susan have a daughter of the right age recorded as another daughter Murphy(although it hasn´t been transcribed as that....have sent an amendment for that & the surname which is transcribed as Munphy) Seems a coincidence that there should be 2 Ann Susans in 2 generations & that George Eaton should have the same occupation as Ann Susan the elder´s father. Haven´t got the cert at the moment.Trying like most people to save a bit of money as this is not my direct line. George & Honora were parents of my g uncle by marriage. Won´t go any further, it gets too complicated.

That´s her. She died in Aston June 1920. Just looking for a death for George. Think they were Catholics, judging by the baptism details for their daughter Anna Susannah. The fact that Honora wasn´t with George on the 1881 census & the length of time between the marriage & the birth of Anna seems a bit odd. Just off to look for a death for George.

Well I have tried all sorts of names and nothing is really showing.
I think the only way you will ever know is to buy the marriage cert if you want to be sure.
