thanks for all the replies that i got.I have all of the above information ,but trying to get further back than him.I have trawled through all the records for middleham as i was hoping for his birth and to get another step back.I looked to see if the witness john was his father or brother but no luck.dont know where to go next.Fairly sure hie is a yorkshire man.Trouble is he died before the next census to see if he gave another place of birth.have his death certificate and no joy on that either .Marriage record does not give his fathers name only the witness.Been loking for 3yrs and truly stuck.

Francis, male name, i as in his.

Frances, female name, e as in hers.
