A cousin of mine who is alive and well is listed as you would expect on the GRO Index. I have just looked this person up to check details and noticed that there is another child same details, mmn b. 1983, but i cannot find a death. Surely you would not name 2 childrent the exact same name,,,

Thanks

Mark, people sometimes recycle names. If they have a child which dies they may reuse the name for the next child, in their memory.

How do you know its the same person? Depending on how unusual the names are it could be a complete coincidence.

Mark - I don't think it's possible to say, from the info in the GRO index, whether the entry refers to the same child or to another child. And there are several of reasons why of b.cert might need amending.

Since one of your index entries is 1983, have you checked the image,
I presume the other is post-1983, so no image will be available.

Have you asked your cousin?
If it were me, I would be slightly offended to think that a cousin was checking up on me.
