I know what happened to most of her siblings. Around 1923 Lillian Shipton came to visit her daughter, my mother, in London and had a baby with her by the name of Vera, I believe. Since then I do not have any knowledge of her whereabouts. There are no marriage records in the UK for her. No one left to ask now. I would just like to know what happened to her.

What was your mums name . Does any of the census info where she is on her own tie up .

I may be wrong Shirley but I thought that Jean's Mum was the Lilian born in 1910?

Thats what i thought too but Jean hasn't confirmed that.

I cant see a Vera with mmn Shipton or a marriage or death for Lilian as Shipton

No, neither could I Shirley. Not that many Lil* Shipton marriages to chose from either.

Perhaps she just took her partner's name and her death was registered in that name.

Lillian was my grandmother. There is no trace of a marriage for her in the UK. She came to visit my mother, her daughter in 1923 with a baby I believe was called Vera. No trace of her beyond that date

Ahh I thought the child was about 3 when she visited so dismissed this birth .
