Stafford/Dudley CARTWRIGHT Burial Lookup

I am looking to locate the burial place for my wife's Grandparents:

Joseph CARTWRIGHT 1898-1977
Ann CARTWRIGHT (Bradley) 1899-1973

They are buried together but the last visit by my wife's late father in 1992 failed to note the Church details and now there is no one left who knows the location!

I have searched the various online resources without success.

You could try asking the local cemeteries to where they died if they would look in their records. Or try the Parks & Cemeteries dept of the local council giving them the details from one of the death certs. They would be in municipal cemetery as church cemeteries were no longer used by then,

The councils keep very good records but may charge for a search ,some do some dont !!

Thanks for both replies so far. Tried local Cemeteries and a possible Church although warden said to ring local Archives, who said to ring the Church. Round & round in circles!

They were Methodists which creates another problem regarding records.

I'm sure they'll turn up somewhere

You could try the local library and look at the newpapers for the dates they died/ were buried. If there was an obit it might have the cemetery or the name of the undertakers.

I would visit but I'm nearly 100 miles away so ii's a bit too far to go without some more concrete information. The lack of living relatives is the problem.
