Don't the birth certificates tell exactly where the two boys were born? That would give you a starting place. Obviously from the 1881 census they were in the district.

It will be difficult finding any records for years in between the censuses. Perhaps the parish records might have something especially as the boys are illegitimate. You'll need to find where they are archived.

How can i find records between 1871 and 1881
Looking for Margaret thomas . on the 1871 census she is 12 years old living in Coychurch road Coity with her parents In 1881 she is with her parents in Nolton steet Bridgend . ,but where was she in between , as there are two now children John 2 years old and William Huxtable 1 month old .. I have the birth certificates and she is their mother .( not married) I am also trying to find where the father also John Huxtable was at that time . According to the family they were in Sutton farm , Cowbridge , but cannot find records.for them .
