George Weston Dunn ended his life in Liverpool and lived at times in Poulton le Fylde near Blackpool and Prescott, near Liverpool. All his Census references give his birthplace as Hull, Yorkshire.
He married Harriet Gray (of Scarborough) at St. Hildas Church, South Shields, Co Durham in February 1837.
The Census plays fast and loose with his ages and hence his birthdate lies somewhere between 1797 and 1816!
However I have consistently failed to trace his birth and hence his parents and siblings in Hull or anywhere close to Hull, despite years of trying!
Any help in so doing would be very gratefully received.

Thank you all! Yes, the George Dunn on the Censuses from 1841 to 1871 is my ancestor, and the marriage in South Shields is also him as far as I have been able to ascertain. I have all the census details and the record of his marriage, although Mike's eyes have noticed 'Isell, Hull' on the 1871 sheet which I have consistently missed! My problem has always been finding the record of his birth in Hull and thereby tracing his parentage. However, Gins' suggestion seems a line worth following up and is certainly the best starting point I have discovered in the long time I've been looking! Many thanks to you all.
