	Hello, I am looking for a marriage that will verify a place of birth for Isabella Adamson born about 1808, she married a Thomas Shield born 1806 in Whickham, County Durham. Now their first chidlren, Isabella 1833 and Thomas 1835 were born in Scotland, Midlothian I think, then William and Jane born in Heworth, County Durham in 1939/40. Family say that Isabella was born in Scotland but I can find nothing to verify this, can anybody help, trouble is I think she died 1840.

	Yes, thats Robert Shield, but no mention of where the Mother was born. Thomas and his brother had a business in County Durham, so its a mystery why he was in Scotland, or if he married there or here?

	This is from a tree at Ancestry, it might be worth contacting the owner as they appear to have exact dates, which indicates they have verified the events? 	Gillian Jennifer There is a tree on Ancestry for this family which I think is worth viewing It has Isabella snr born Winlaton(Ryton) 19 Oct 1808 parents Thomas and Jane Jones It shows Isabella died 1840 and Thomas remarried to a Sarah Oxley 1841 Gateshead You can view this tree on this free link https://www.mundia.com/gb It also shows Ann b Swalwell Durham 1824 Thomas b Scotland 1831 Isabella b Cramond Midlothian 1833 Robert b 1834 Cramond and Jane b 1839 Whickham
