Following your observation I looked again at the 1911 census results for "McEntee", "McIntee", "McInteer", "McAtee" and "McAteer" in Fermanagh. In the whole county only a total of about 30 people pop up with any version of the name so it would seem they must have their roots in another county. The adjoining county of Monaghan seems to be a stronghold so given that people tended not to wander to far in those days I would assume that is where they originated. Food for thought. Member Since: July 2004 Posts: 5,047 Send Message	William...It may be worth noting that the "McEntee" surname(as per spelling) was not one found in the Co Fermanagh..the further back you go it appears to have derived from McAtee or McAteer....

Member Since: June 2011 Posts: 35 Send Message	I am continuing my search for my ancestor's siblings and am wondering if anybody can help. My ancestor was John McEntee, born about 1841. With many thanks to GinaS for her invaluable help, I now know he died in "Eshawilligan" Townland, Clones in 1916. He had at least 2 sisters, both of whom remained unmarried ---- Catherine born about 1843 and Margaret born about 1845. In the 1901 Irish census the 2 sisters are living together in "Eshawilligan" Townland, Clones, age 57 and 55 respectively: in the following 1911 census, Catherine has vanished, which inclines me to believe she had died before it was taken. I am trying to find a death for her. In the 1911 census Margaret is now living with her brother (my ancestor, John) (this time it is "Eshywulligan Townland ,Clones ----- I wonder which spelling is correct?). Margaret would have died sometime post 1911, age over 67. I am hoping to find a death for her as well. Regards, Bill I hope that is not too convoluted :-S
