That lady was still married to Sydney when he died in 1962. She was granted probate:

Marie celeste .... no clue about her mums name, my gran never knew any other family. Says she was a spinster on the wedding cert but i guess she could have lied! The witness was a j w Butler...this name doesnt mean anything to me :(

Stuart...hadnt occured to me she was married before...although that does make sense as i think 32 is a bit old for a first marriage and baby in those days!

I don't suppose there's any family info as to what her mum may have been called? Just wonder if Winifred was born before marriage and registered in her mother's maiden name.

I take it she was a spinster at marriage and hadn't been previously wed?

Hi, I am trying to find a birth entry for my great gran, but i cant find one!!

My great grans name was winifred kathleen wynn.

I have her marriage cert.... she maried Albert alfred charman on may 3rd 1926 in lambeth, london. It states that winifred was 31 at the time so her birth must be 1895! Her father is mentioned on the cert although he was dead at the time, his name was given as william wynn and says he was an actor.

Winifred gave birth to my gran vivienne rita before the wedding but waited until after she wed to register her birth. Vivienne rita charman was born on 27 april 1926 and registered in june 1926.

Then i have winifreds death cert... she was found dead on 24th october 1961 at 10 guilford road south lambeth aged 66 years old.


So....i have these bits of info but still cant find her birth, i am desperate to figure it out and find out who her prents were and other relatives.

I can only think that winifred kathleen wynn wasnt her name, or she was born in another country..does anyone have any tips for me?

I have looked at 1901 census and i found a few winifred wynns but none with a father called william!
