I am looking for the service record for my Grandfather, Charles Mather Tighe, born August 1901 in Edinburgh, Scotland. He joined the Navy in 1916 as a 15 year old, lying about his age to enlist, and ended up in Germany in 1919 receiving a Red Cross medal for saving a German national from drowning. He was also in the Merchant Navy in WWII, but little is known about this. If anyone has access to service records could they please see what they can find out or direct me to it.

Thanks

Russell Taylor
