Hi Mike and thank you - I'd say the Middlesbrough connection is her but it is difficult. I was mainly look for her death but nothing on FREE BMD.

Hi there, my relative Mary Welch (later Toy) was born c. 1827 in Ireland married in 1847:

Bridget Welch (1) was born in Ireland in1827 according to census records and subsequently married John Toy on the 13th December 1847 at the Parish Church of Houghton le Spring, County Durham. Details on the certificate are:-

John Toy, full age (i.e. 21 or over) Bachelor, Pitman, residence at Houghton, Father James Toy – Pitman.

Bridget Welsh, full age, no profession listed, residence at Houghton, Father John Welsh – Labourer.

In 1871 she was living with her brother in Hartlepool ... I am ONLY looking for Mary Toy in the census before and after this date. Can you help please?
