There are two records for him neither of which contain much information although luckily there is a photograph of him on the earlier record. The first is for 1918 to 1921 and the second is 1921 to 1942.
I will attach them to a PM for you.

I have also found one for Charles which has a pic on so I will send that too.

Can't locate anything for George.

Who was the idiot who rr'd this because cane used the word "crap"? According to my Websters Dictionary crap means nonsense or junk.

The Will only proves that Richard was alive when it was drawn up.............not that he was around when it came into force. Unless he was one of the named executors and he fulfilled the function.

And the 'birth' details I posted were DEATHS.

You asked for his death - I would hardly bother looking for birth info

Cane,

Basically speaking it appears as if other than spotting him on the 1891 census you do not know a great deal about Richard Abbott. You state that he was alive in 1934 when his father died. Does that mean that he was the informant on his father's death registration or is it a family story that he attended his father's funeral or was a beneficiary of his father's estate?

You also state that he and his brothers served in the merchant navy. Have you considered the possibility that if he were still a merchant seaman between 1939~1945 that he may, like so many other merchant seamen, have perished during WW2?

This is the family in 1881. On Richards merchant Seaman records he gives his birth place as Layter so it could be Layton..

Please, cane, remove the 4-letter word.

You are letting yourself down by using it

I think it's possible that Richard and Charles were born before the marriage? as this is the only one coming up for Samuel to Elizabeth??

Several possibilities but more info needed to try to decide which one.

Where exactly was he born?

Did he have any other name?

Did he marry and if so do you know his wifes forename(s)?
