If anyone is visiting the archives at Somerset or has access to original film I am trying to find more information on the marriage between Henry Hawker and Betty Moore 19 Sept 1802 at St Mary the Virgin Chard Somerset. I have a file no. from FreeReg no. 24597 if appropriate. I need to find out age, parents, and anything else that could help me break down a brick wall. Would be grateful for whatever help I can get. |

Thanks to all fir your interest, sorry not to have been able to respond sooner. I do however have all of the above information as have tried to research my family for the last 10 years and have built a larger than life descendency tree. Henry was born around 1754 and died 1817. I have his first marriage to Susannah Moore in 1774 but there are no other details for either party. I am trying to confirm that the second marriage to Betty Moore in 1802 is indeed the same man marrying a possible sister to his first wife. The second marriage may have more to go on as the pot has run dry on Henry's origins. There may be record of this second marriage in Dr Cambells Index to baptisms and marriages or Phillimores Somerset Marriages which I know will be at Somerset Archives, so hoping someone can help me if they're visiting in the near future. |
