Births Mar 1915 Jones Eric N Wright Aston 6d 1075

Births Sep 1916 Jones Ida Wright Aston 6d 959

I can't find any further Jones-Wright births after 1916 in Aston, though freebmd is a bit slow at the moment.

However there is no guarantee that ANY of the above children belong to Herbert and Alice Beatrice, and not one or more of the other potential Jones-Wright couples.

Alice Crowley is merely the other bride recorded on the same register page, 721, who presumably married the other groom, namely Edward Vincent Price.

Jerseylily actually indicated Herbert Jones and Alice Beatrice Wright.

Simon,

You could have checked for them yourself on freebmd

http://www.freebmd.org.uk/

I don't know if it's worth sending off for them, as there are some other potential Jones-Wright marriages in the area as I said before, that could account for some or all of the births. (I haven't cross reffed with the 1911 census to see if the Jones males did actually marry the Wright females, and not the other brides )

Hi Jerseylily

I was wondering how you made the link to Alice Crowley? where has the surname Crowley come from.

Apologies if i'm missing something.

Thanks Kucinta. Could you give me details of those births to add to my list of certificates to send off for.

Thanks in advance

There are five (edit six) Jones children born with mother maiden name Wright between 1911 and 1916 in the Aston district.

There are other potential Jones-Wright marriages (up to 1911) in the area which might account for some or all of them.

Thanks very much Everyone.

Mike - my Great grandmother was Rosetta Ellen Crew. Married my Grandfather in Oct 1917

Maddie - Herbert and Alice lived on Howe street in 1911 so that would seem correct

jerseylily Report 24 Jan 2013 12:20

They did marry - see post above.
Alice died 1917 - see post above

With a name like Jones it will be difficult to determine what happened to Florence although I'd hazard a guess that her middle name was Beatrice after her mother which may help.

Thanks for that. I guessed they may not be. I also discovered that my Great Grandmother had a similar story. Her children had survived and recently tracked their descendants down and put my grandfather in touch withe them. Could you find a death for Florence or Alice?

Simon Report 24 Jan 2013 12:04

I recently got access to the 1911 census and found out that my Great Grandfather was previously married(or at least he claims to be married on the census) before he married my Great Grandmother. My G Grandfather was Herbert Jones b 01/07/1886
His 'wife' was Alice wright born c1886 both Birmingham. They had a daughter Florence B Jones who was 7mth old at the time of the census.

I would like to get my hands on a wedding cert and a birth for Florence. I would also like to know what happened to Alice and Florence. Did they pass away before Herbert married my Great Grandmother?

I would really appreciate any help you kind people could offer me.

Many thanks

Simon Jones
