I am looking for the marriage of Thomas Lewis and Catherine Jones - possibly circa 1825 in Llangyfelach Swansea. I have looked on igi - this gives me a year. parents names of both parties would be really useful!
Thank you for any info.

According to an Ancestry tree Thomas Lewis married Catherine Jones Oct 2 1825 Llangyfelach
Parents of Thomas were Thomas b 16/9/1769 and Ester Thomas b 4/6/1774. both Llangyfelach and they married 12/10/1794 Llangyfelach
Father of Catherine is shown as John

Unfortunately parish records of marriages during that period very rarely give any details of the fathers of those marrying. Then, as today, in England and Wales the mothers name was/is never recorded.

Another problem you have as I am sure that you are aware of is that Thomas Lewis and Catherine Jones were/are very common names in Wales. Presumably you discovered Catherine's maiden name from the birth registration of one of their children.

Not a great deal of help or encouragement I know but at least you know that your post has not gone unnoticed.

Good luck.
