How have you 'worked out' she was born in 1927? The only way you can be sure of anything is to have the certificates

we worked out olive was born 1927 and she was 17 wen she got married to sidney thomas porter so she was born 16 december 1927 cn ya 1 help plz

When you get it, go to the "My Threads" link on the left hand side of these pages. When you click on that it will take you back to this thread (and any others you post on). Just add a new post giving the details of the marriage certificate and then your thread will move to the front of the boards where we'll see it.

Meanwhile, do you mind telling us where and when your mum died, and also her surname if it was no longer Porter? We can sometimes work back from info on a death record.

Where do you think she might have been born? There are quite a lot of Olive M Edwards born around that time.

Gareth - that's how marriage certificates work, they list the bride and grooms father's names.

You get the certificate and work back from there. This genealogy lark isn't always a quick process.
