I am trying to find information about John Ferguson born in Burnley 1905. He was the son of my grandfather John Ferguson and his wife Catherine nee Melvin they also had a daughter Mary born in 1904 who I knew when I was a child, she was not married and died about 1989. By the census of 1911 my granddad was a widower his wife having died before 1911. The men in the family were employed mainly in the coal mines and the girls in cotton mills. I always believed that his eldest son died at a young age but so far have had no luck in tracking down a record of his death. Any help much appreciated

Thank you Mike this is Mary's record and she continued to live with her mother's family for many years following the girls in working in textile mills John however remains a mystery I don't remember him being spoken of when I was young only in the context of Mary's elder brother and have no idea what happened to him. My grandfather move to Ingleton in N Yorks to work in the mines where he met my grandmother their eldest son being born in 1916/17. He used to return to Burnley to visit his parents
