Welcome to the boards, Valerie.
Where did you find the information about them that you have got?
Have you just guessed the ages for John and Ann, and do you know where in Hampshire?
Thanks

Unfortunately Lipscomb seems to be a common name in those parts.

Although Portsea and Kingsclere are both in Hampshire, they are more than 40 miles apart.
Some more information needed.

Added:
Valerie's family appear to be the Portsea lot.

thank you to everyone who has answered my query re a John Lipscomb and will be acting on all advice given. obviously this will take a little time but i will get back and let you know how i've got on. as people have said it is a popular name in hampshire especially around the Droxford/Meon area. one of them eventually left that area to settle on the Isle of Wight which is where i come in. however, i have been to hampshire records in winchester on several occasions but the transcripts are so blured and sometimes impossible to decipher that i have now got stuck. also of course it is possible that it was, at times, spelt with an e on the end which, is the case with the isle of wight side of my family.
thanks again. valerie :-)

many thanks to 'patcham' 'beverleyw''gins' and mike for all information.
have checked my records and found the following.
ann lipscomb 1775 from the igi and pr records also the name could be Passingham and not Poppingham possibly b Portsea.
john lipscomb b 1777 is from George Lipscomb marriage pr. issues on portsea location for marriage and pr only for kingsworthy Hannah Farley. burial pr has john died aged 61 in Droxford 10/9/1838.
i do not have the john lipscomb from 1841 census b alton, hants but this could be a possibility later in the story.
thanks for the websites they're next on my todo list. yes name is common also spelt with an e on the end too which doesn't help.
Preston-candover is near winchester i see which may of be help so will keep that on file thanks. again thanks for info re john lipscomb with father william 1748 and other info. all noted and hopefully will be able to add later on.
while i'm here i am also trying to add to the isle of wight side of the family so anything with names of the following on the island would be most appreciated Lale/Leal - Cheverton- Cleverley. i do have some information on these but i would like more if anyone else has any so i can corrolate them. isle of wight records are kept over there although they can be got on line, however to be able to see further backt means a trip of a day or two over the water. so any help more than welcome
thanks again valerie.
