If Margaret's birthdate was 9th April then I would think the Sedgefield birth would be more likely as that was registered in the June quarter which would be right.

Not sure how Dopeydoc would have got the date of birth from the death index----not with the right name and place of death !!!

I can't see a "Margaret Emery" death index in Northumberland for 1988.

All I seached for was Margaret born April 9th 1923 who died in Northumberland in 1988 (Dates as OP)

It just came up with Margaret Webb( who MAY have been the Margaret Emery who married Arthur W Webb as in my above post.

But not coming up with a Margaret Newton for dates as OP !!!

I wrongly assumed that the info given about the death was accurate........on past experience, I should have known better!

None of what was originally posted seems to have any basis in fact

There must be some "basic facts" Maybe right names but wrong places or dates.
We all know how easy it is to go down the wrong "track" in family history, but with a few questions and answers hopefully it can soon be put on the right track.again.

I love a good mystery anyway :-D
