Find Ancestors

Mary Alice Marsh (nee Jones) born 1879 Swinton, have done a person search on fmp it looks like she is living in Wigan at time of 1911 Census, husband is Samuel Marsh born 1877, two daughters Alice born 1899 or 1900 she was 1yr old on the 1901 and the other daughter was May Marsh 1mth old on the 1901, from the person search she is coming up under the name Mary Marsh. Could someone look for this family in Wigan on the 1911 Census for me please.

Not sure about this one my Mary Alice was born in 1879 so the age on this seems wrong, are you able to look up the one for the Mary Alice age 32 in Bolton Registration District as that one fits perfectly.

Sorry Christine...this is the only 1911 I can find on Ancestry. According to the census image they had been married 4 years.

I'm getting so confused with these Jones, I have two brothers who both have a daughter Mary Alice Jones the one you found for me on the 1911 is the daughter of George, your findings were correct, so sorry my mistake the penny has just dropped with me.

Sylvia its possible that the 1911 for the other Mary Alice Lane with husband Robert is also mine and her father was William (brother of George). I'll do some research on this one. It may be that both Mary Alices married into the Lane family.

Is it William or George's daughter Mary Alice Jones you are more interested in and approx when was William's daughter born?

George Jones daughter Mary Alice Jones b. 1885 was the one who married William George Lane.

My GGGrandfather is William Jones (brother of George) he also had a daughter called Mary Alice Jones who was born in 1879 on the 1881 census she is Mary Alice born in Swinton 1879 age 2 however on the 1891 census she is Margaret Jones born 1879 in Swinton age 12, have not found her on the 1901 census so she must have died or married I've not found anything yet.

Well everyone I haven't found a death but have found a possible marriage:

Mary Alice Jones and Samuel Marsh JAS 1897 8d 164 unable to find this marriage on any other site but Ancestry.

Have found this family on the 1901 census and it looks to be the right one to me.

why would Alice Marsh b.ca1900 on the 1901 Census be registered with mmn Jones?????

IF this is Samuel and Mary Alice that Christine found the marriage for, they were married in 1897.




I can find no trace of any of them on the 1911 Census
