Find Ancestors

Hi there,

I am looking for my ggg aunt Mary Ann Woods, born 8 March 1855 in Stockton-on-Tees.

Her parents where Robert and Rebecca Woods (nee Little). In 1861 the family are living at Ormesby and other than her sibling John (my gg grandfather) I suspect that their other brothers died in infancy. This is because their mother Rebecca died in 1866 in Stockton, and in 1871, Robert along with children John and Mary Ann are living in Sunderland.

John born c. 1852, married Theresa Panton in 1877 in Middlesbrough and changes his place of birth for the next thirty years on the census. I've looked for his death on this board before but with no success. So, I am looking to see what became of Mary Ann after 1871 to see if that may yeild any clues.

I have found this marriage. Can anyone help me find more about her please?

Have you looked on 1881 for William Buck and James Robson

Only on family search and nothing has jumped out.

Could this be James Robson and Mary Jane Davison in the 1881 census (which would mean that Mary Ann Woods married William Buck):-

The only confirmed things I can say is that you found John's wife in the 1911 and the death in 1920 is NOT him.

I too found the 1881 census image for the POSSIBLE marriage but nothing confirmed from it.

Ahhhh maybe the 1873 marriage isn't correct. Back to the drawing board!

Peter, if you've looked for his death on this board before where is the original thread? (Might be something useful for us on there)
