Would anyone have access to marraiges which may have taken place outside England and Wales ?. I have identified the bap of a relative, Seline Rosa Beer which took place at the church of the Holy Trinity Church Plymouth on 4 Mar 1904, that record of her baptism also records her date of birth as the 19 Dec 1903.

I can not identify her marraige but possibly found her death in 1985 recorded in the Plymouth district in the name of Selina Rose Lewis with the same date of birth.

I have considered that she may have assumed the surname of Lewis but also wondered if the marraige took place overseas.

Any thoughts would be welcomed.

Hello Maurice, your best bet would be to get the death certificate to see what it says on there.

How did you connect to her? - It must be through another relative.

And yes, it's certainly not uncommon to assume the name of someone she lived with.

Marie,
I may well have to order the death cert to see if it provides any clues. I connected with her through my own research although the ancestry of this particular line is in itself complicated.
Many thanks for your input,
Maurice

I had seen the 1907 death but I am sure that is not her. The 1911 census records Rose or Rosa living with her mother and 6 siblings, the mother having lost none of her children up until then.
Thanks for trying
Maurice

Andy

I think that is the Selina Rose Beer that is born in Middlesex in 1897. The name seems more common than you would imagine.

Getting the 1985 death certificate seems to be the next step.

Edit: Sorry, you must have edited yours as I was posting

Many thanks to you all for your time and interest, I think I will have to presume that no marraige took place unless any future research proves otherwise.

Many thanks
