Anyone connected to or have knowledge of a Joseph Makin who was in West Bradford area of Manchester, Lancashire in May 1875. He must have been of 'adult age' as he registered the death of Rebecca Cummins, aged two (2) years, who had died at Hamilton Street, West Bradford. She was the daughter of William and Anne Cummins (nee Delahunt). Joseph Makin described himself as a cousin of deceased girl and if this is accurate he must be connected to the Cummins or Delahunt families who originated from Limerick City, Ireland. Any information appreciated. |

mgnv and Catherine. Thanks a lot. That IS the family. The Mary Jane Cummins is my paternal grandmother. My only issue now is that William Cummins, born August 1847 at Limerick (son of John and Rebecca) seems to have done a bunk from family. He is not mentioned on this census and Anne is recorded as married - NOT widowed. No trace of him with family after birth of young Ann. Also there was another child Rebecca born Limerick April 1842 and died West Bradford, Manchester May 1875 BUT have no details or knowledge as to fourth child mentioned above as dead. Unless that child was a twin with Rebecca then he/she must have been born/died in Manchester? Much obliged to you both. Tony. |

As regards the Makin part, I had hoped that another branch could open up if I could establish the 'cousin relationship' and determine if Joseph akin was related to Cummins or Delahunt side of families. |
