Am I being mercenary, but I think Hayley needs to get the marriage cert of Edward Wilfred Millington and Elizabeth Hulley before continuing further. In fact I would be even more nitpicking and suggest she gets her father's birth certificate first, to prove his parents.

She doesn't seem to know the various aunts that have been suggested, so I think she should start at base.

Ok thanks dea the death records on here just state when they died not how so the only way I'd find out how is by buying a copy of the actual death cert? X

Dea Report 11 Feb 2013 07:47

You will only find the cause of death on the death cert Hayley, unless, of course, there was any 'foul play' or dramatic accident involved, in which case you might find a newspaper article or an inquest.

I thnk in order to go back further, you will need to purchase a copy of Thomas Millington and Jane's marriage cert to find out who their Fathers were.

With a name like Jane Jones........there are quite a few to choose from looking at the 1891 census.

hayley Report 6 Feb 2013 20:50

Omg brill :-D :-D :-D well my next question is,is it possible that a child can b born and not registered at birth? The reason I ask is because my dad's sister has never been able to find a birth record for herself I've here bit can only find a winifred Millington born that year. I know her date of birth is 21st March 1940 and her father is obviously edward Wilfred spoken about above :-) wow ok so that's both sets of great grand parents found I wonder how far back I can go :-D xx
