Am trying to find parents of Harriet Taylor born c 1808 Langton by Partney Lincs. Ancestry has Samuel and Elizabeth but cannot find maiden name for Elizabeth Would also like to confirm parents of Elizabeth Davy b c 1825 Stickford Lincs. I believe Elizabeth was the dau of Harriet Taylor and John Davy can anyone confirm. Elizabeth was not living with her family in 1841 & Harriet was deceased by that date. I have a marriage certificate for Elizabeth Davy and William Dixon, Dec 1849, the name for father/guardian of the bride is John Taylor occ carpenter, possibly a brother to Harriet. Any help gratefully received Cheers Nora

Good morning Astra Many thanks for such a prompt response to my queries. What I'm really searching for is a second point of contact to prove family connections. The Elizabeth Moody lead is most welcome. Will try to find out more. There was a another family named Taylor in the Alford area with parents also named Samuel and Elizabeth but I believe she was Elizabeth Middleton. Not being able to connect Elizabeth Davy to her family in the 1841 census is a drawback, as is not having her father's name on her marriage certificate. John Taylor was also a witness to the marriage which I suspect was an elopement. From memory the Elizabeth I did find, working as a servant ,in the relevant area in 1841 was the only possible candidate to be the Elizabeth I'm looking for. Do I take a giant leap of faith in claiming her as my ancestor? Thanks again and cheers Nora
