Billy Smart, Jr (15 October 1934 – 23 May 2005) was widely known in Britain as a circus performer and impresario.

Smart, whose real name was Stanley, was the tenth child and third son of Billy Smart, Sr. His father was a showman and fairground proprietor, who bought a circus in 1946.

Harry William Gould, born in 1890 in Liverpool, apparently abandoned by his parents as a child. He claimed to be a friend of Billy Smart, of circus fame, in his teens, later acting as his agent in Liverpool.
He was a property owner/landlord, owning several houses in the Upper Parliament Street area of Liverpool, and ran a bar/club. His nephew, Albert Hughes, may have been a business associate.
From the late 1940s onwards he lived on East Albert Road in Liverpool 17. My father and my grandmother, Leah, (who had split from her husband) moved in with him around this time and took his surname, although there was no marriage.
I'm fairly certain he had children from an earlier relationship. There may have been a connection with the Anfield area. My grandmother died in 1972 and we heard no more from him after 1977.
