In 1851 he gives his birth place as Burton Leonard

His father being Richard would make sense. If James married Mary Ann Walker in 1826 (there is a George Walker with them as an apprentice in 1851) their first child born in 1827 was Richard.

Yes, Astra's 1861 looks like the right family - I'll delete the other one I posted earlier.
