Yes, I think that will be my next step...I only recieved the marriage certificate an hour ago, which states Cecil George's age in 1922 as 20 yrs old and I know he was born in Hackney, I just wanted to make sure I had the right person before purchasing another certificate.....thankyou all, for all your help, you've given me something to concentrate on while I wait another week for the certificate to arrive!...xx :-)

KathleenBell Report 18 Feb 2013 14:24

GlitterBaby Report 18 Feb 2013 14:19

Are any of the witnesses on the marriage cert related

Alemap Report 18 Feb 2013 14:14

I think you need Cecil George's birth certificate to find his mother's name and the father's occupation when Cecil was born.

Linda Report 18 Feb 2013 13:47

I have my father in law's birth cert, (name also George born 1923), his parents marriage cert in Cecil George and Maud Underwood in 1922, which states Cecil George's father as just George Hall a timekeeper, so I was guessing he would be born around 1883 ish?

Linda Report 18 Feb 2013 13:41

Thanks Reggie...I am going by Cecil George Hall's 1922 marriage certificate, which say's his father's name was George Hall - occupation a 'timekeeper' all I know is that Cecil George was born in Hackney.

Dea Report 18 Feb 2013 13:39

Can you tell us how you have worked your way back to George Hall and how you know he was born in 1883 ?

You need to give us ALL the info you have please.
