Looking for George Fry b. 1836 (says Greinton, Somerset on 1881 Census).
Particularly interested in sister Mary b. 1831 (also says Greinton on 1881 Census) but doubtful. Living Sutton Mallet - 1881 Census.
Going for 1841 Census to confirm Mary is sister to George and 1851 Census might give correct birthplace unless Mary has left home. Make sense?

To find the name of George's father, buy one of his marriage certs

Aha, now you have confirmed my earlier searches. It may be that Mary was sister to first wife Margaret Loveridge. there is a marriage of a Mary Loveridge to George Hooper 1852 Axbridge.
Will have to search for death of George Hooper but would appreciate a look-up for Mary and George on 1861 Census please if you would'nt mind. Maybe the answer.

Thanks Reggie, No Mary. Cannot get my head around this one. There are several marriages of a Mary Fry from 1849 Shepton Mallett and Bridgwater but not to a ? Hooper. Still cannot find a birth of Mary Fry at Greinton but must assume she is sister to George.

I have family connections to Hooper and Fry families so was hoping to sort out relationships. Thank you for your help. Sylvia
